Folk dance education
In 1971 we were one of the first schools which initiated teaching and spreading folklore in Budapest and we aimed to keep folklore traditions and use them to enrich children’s personality. Since then our children have learnt the steps of folk dance in two lessons per week which are included in their timetable. Teaching folk dance, like all the other forms of art, bears an important drive in the educational process of our school. It provides plenty of opportunities for our children to gain experiences and teaches them to spend their free time in a useful and sensible way. Our aim is to make our students familiar with Hungarian people’s ancient culture, to maintain folk dance traditions and to keep the culture of folklore games.
