Our choirs have played a determining role in the 50-year-old history of the school and they also make a community for enthusiastic children having a good voice or others with not as good voice alike. We teach music-loving children, aged 6-14, to sing in an increased number of lessons. Our students learn about music history and in their free time they learn to play musical instruments.
Our choir members have received medals at several Budapest chamber singing or folk song competitions and they have proved both in solo and chamber performances that working and singing together always bring the expected reward. Our choirs gave a very successful concert at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy every year. We have performed at the Vigadó Concert Hall and at the Opera House. TV and radio records give evidence of our annual work.
The development of our children is testified by several performances abroad. We have participated many times at choir festivals in Italy, we have toured in the cities of Transylvania and have performed in the European Parliament in Strassbourg. We have also made the audiences in the Baltic states and Finland familiar with pieces of Kodály and Bartók. Our choirs have been welcomed in Slovakia and Germany as well. Due to our choir connections we have hosted foreign choirs and have given very successful concerts in the concert halls of Budapest.
